zoom_zoom33 asked:

I am planning on filing for bankruptcy but have two items I had a co-signer for? I have tried debt consolidation and 8months into it and having problems making the monthly payments. So now I am needing to file for bankruptcy but my auto loan and a personal loan had a co-signer. My question is can the co-signer file for bankruptcy if they only have a credit card that is maxed out and they only have the 2 items they co-signed with me on. They could not afford to take on both payments if I were to file bankruptcy. This person only takes home 1600 in payments and rents a home with me. the monthly auto payment is 475 and other loan is 230 monthly. Would I have to file for bankruptcy first? I am not looking to get judged here and yes I know it would be best to speak with a bankruptcy lawyer on this matter but any answer on this situation would be appreciated. PLEASE no judging. I am aware I made a mess of my situation and after bankrutpcy is through no more credit cards except one to rebuild my credit score.

blakesmommie asked:

Hi, we have bankruptcy court this Friday. Our lawyer is doing nothing to help us prepare. For one he has only talked to us 2 times, when i call to try and discuss re-affirming with creditors, he is never “available”. What are we going to be up against in court? Are we going to be ambushed by our creditors? And how long does court usually last? And do you do all the re-affrimation papers there, or do you do them with the creditors at a later date? We paid the lawyer 1500.00 to do this, and he hasnt helped us at all. At first he told us that we would have no problem with collateral on a personal loan, 3 weeks ago we were told that we either reaffirm, or loose the stuff. When i went and asked him about it, i reminded him that he told us that this wouldnt be a problem, and his comment was “Well it’s a problem now” So what do we have to look foward to, and any advise on the lawyer?

piercing_beauty96 asked:

I am contemplating filing for bankruptcy as my bills have gotten out of control since my son got sick and I had to take a job making less an hour. I have questions that I am hoping someone will know the answers to before I call a lawyer and get charged for answers. what happens when I file for taxes for the 2009 year if I file for bankruptcy? can I continue to work and if I do, what will happen to the money I earn? is it mandatory to use this to pay back debts? can a credit union personal loan be included in a bankruptcy if it is unsecured? can I file and choose not to add my car payment to what I am filing? any answers to my questions would be great…i am just so confused on what to do and I have no money to work with for all the bills I have.
